Here's the magic.Carnival commitee's work all year round, raising funds to stage the annual events.
Contacting Police, local governments, highways departments etc.
They also stage a selections night so that girls from around the area may be judged to represent there town as a carnival Queen. When the selections have been made these girls attend courts of Queens and carnival's around the region representing there town. This has to be self funding from there parents and families and costs quit a lot of time and money.
Now you have got the dress, the flowers and head dress all you need is a carnival float. Most carnival girls don't have access to a float so they use there parents or families car. As a carnival Queen you represent your town at other carnival's throughout your region and in return carnival Queen's from throughout the region will come to your carnival.
All the money raised on a carnival parade goes to help local and national charities.
It's a lot of hard work and a lot of good fun.
